Barndomsträd

This album is a celebration of nature and the deep connection we share with it. As a Swede living in Copenhagen, I’ve come to miss the natural world immensely. When I wanted to create something meaningful for the planet, I turned to the poetry of Edith Södergran, whose work captures the magnificence of the smallest blade of grass.

The compositions are inspired by her timeless and powerful poetry, exploring themes of nature, womanhood, and life’s fragility. The project took on a personal dimension after my father’s passing, with one particular poem, Sjukbesök, vividly bringing back my last moments with him. That poem became a song in an almost magical way.

Featuring Stina Ekblad as the voice of Södergran, the album blends Scandinavian tones with the raw beauty of jazz and classical influences, evoking the scent of frost, forest floors, and moss. It’s a tribute to the trees that sustain us all.
